Abstract
With a growth of 15% in the number of startups in the year 2018, India managed to become the 3rd largest startup ecosystem in the world. Being one of the largest markets in the world with great diversity, India has a lot more to contribute to innovation through the medium of startups. The current study is an attempt to understand the reasons for this tremendous growth in the number of startups, the challenges faced by these startups and initiatives taken by Government to contribute to the country’s startup ecosystem.
